a clear process for a smooth project

The creative process doesn’t have to be a mystery. I approach the process with the same clarity I strive in my design. This goes a long way to making sure the project stays on budget, on time, and on target.

...

understanding your goals

Each project begins with a kick-off meeting to discuss the details and pick your brain. I’ll glean all I can about your target audience and marketing objectives. I’ll ask you about your timelines and budget, both of which I’ll work diligently to respect. And I’ll identify your stylistic preferences as well as aversions. We’ll go over your options for photography and illustration, and brainstorm some initial ideas.

You’ll walk away feeling confident that I’ve grasped your business and goals. And I’ll walk away with an understanding of your expectations.

...

planning the project

Taking this information into account, I’ll define a project plan that recaps the ideas from our initial meeting, maps out a clear timetable for deliverables, and outlines costs so there are no surprises. You’ll have the opportunity to review the proposal and request refinements. Once the proposal is at a place you feel comfortable with, I’ll secure a final sign-off and get started.

developing the creative

This is where the right side of the brain kicks in. I start exploring images, fonts, color pallets and layouts that capture the essence of your business, services and products while reflecting the dynamics of your target audience. This exploration becomes the basis of the design options I present — typically 2 to 3 concepts.

...

refining the concept

As the client, you are an active part of the process. I solicit your feedback on the designs I’ve presented and your preferred direction, then make refinements based on your input. I’ll bring my recommendations, as well. And together, we’ll get your project to place you’re happy with.

...

delivering the design

Once you’ve approved the final design, I prepare the files for print or online launch.

It’s really that simple. And, accordingly to my clients, a really effective way to get keep the project on track. And on target.
